I received my undergraduate degree from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington and my Masters in Psychology at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. I am a licensed psychotherapist in the State of Colorado with over 13 years of experience working with children, teens, adults and elders in day treatment facilities, outpatient programs and private practice. I am passionate about helping others discover treasures of truth within their heart and awaken joyfulness of being.

My passion for psychotherapy began with my own life experiences and healing journey. While working towards my degree in environmental studies at Evergreen State, I was involved in a life threatening car accident that changed my focus to psychology. This shift in focus was initiated by a powerful transformation that occurred during my recovery process. I spent a month in the hospital healing from multiple broken bones, a head injury and facial paralysis. During this time my life perspective changed dramatically. Within the limitations of physical pain and immobility, I experienced psychological freedom that was untouched by everyday anxieties and stressors. By facing my own mortality, I woke up to the truth that life is a precious gift that is fleeting and sacred. I started to question my normal mode of living, recognizing that I can choose between embracing each moment as a gift with an open heart, or struggle and worry that things are just not good enough. This discovery opened my eyes to the nature of suffering and that emotional freedom is available to everyone.

A large part of my Journey through life has called me to walk the edge of discomfort and uncertainty. In 2019 I lost my husband to cancer. We traveled together through the waves of hope, fear, love and loss. This journey carried me through an alchemy of transformation that has informed the depths of compassion I bring to my practice.

I currently live in the mountains with my twin sons who are eight years old. The three main areas that are central to my heart are nature, art and community. I enjoy spending time outdoors exploring the immense beauty that Colorado offers. I also enjoy the arts including music, painting, creating, imagining and exploring. My community of friends and family has been central in providing support through my journey in life. At the core of everything is my thirst in accessing the deeper truth and meaning in human nature. I have explored different wisdom traditions that have informed and guided my practice and relationship with self and others.
